"Stephen B. Bartow"

Brooklyn Daily Eagle

Many young boys found their way into the Civil War by enlisting as drummer boys. Stephen Benjamin Bartow and Clarence D. McKenzie are just two examples. Bartow went on to fight with Brooklyn's "Fighting 14th" Regiment, survived many battles, worked on the building of the Brooklyn Bridge, and lived to be 65 years old.
