Library Information

In 1857, the Mercantile Library Association of the City of Brooklyn established a library in this neighborhood, succeeded by the Brooklyn Public Library. In 1991 the Cadman Plaza West building underwent extensive renovations, which added a new auditorium and other space.








  All Children's programming will be on Spring Break from April 21st until May 1 ,2014, with the exception of our Chess Club.

First Five Years Story Time:   Each story session may be full.  This program includes sessions below:

Babies and Books: Tuesdays, 1:30 and 2:00  p.m. 

Disco Time with Yoni , Tues. May 6 @ 10:45 a.m. & May 20 @ 10:45 a.m. . Ages 0-4. 

 Toddler Storytime: Wednesdays at 10:45 and 11:15 a.m. 

Every Thursday @ 2:30 p.m. Pre-K Stories. Ages 3-5.

Every Thursday @ 4:00 p.m. Explore & Create. Ages 4+.

Friday May 9 & May 23 @ 3:30 p.m. Family Film Friday . All ages.

Family Story & Play Sat. May 17 @ 11 a.m. A special Bike the Branches program.

Free tickets required BEFORE each storytime session available at 2nd floor Youth Services Information Desk.


Game On / Chess: Wednesdays at 3:30 until 4:45 p.m..** Ages 4+.
