All Brooklyn Public Library locations will be closed on Sunday, April 20 for Easter Sunday.

The Business Library offers dozens of programs a year to assist with business start-up and expansion, resource navigation, and financial and investment education. Combined with thousands of resources at the Business Library, these programs supplement existing resources and provide an alternative learning experience for the public. Program attendees receive the added benefit of networking with other small business owners and entrepreneurs. All programs are free to the public.

Con Edison Power Breakfast Series

Con Edison has partnered with Brooklyn Public Library to produce the popular Power Breakfast Series since 1997. These free programs highlight economic development in Brooklyn and provide opportunities for you to network and exchange information. Past programs have focused on a variety of industries, including hospitality and food packaging, film and music, and manufacturing and retail.

Entrepreneur Series

The Business Library produces this annual Entrepreneur Series that gives many potential, new and existing business owners the opportunity to learn directly from an entrepreneur who has gone before them and taken the risks to build a business. Speakers empower entrepreneurs by sharing their business start-up stories. Now in its fifth year, this series has drawn hundreds of entrepreneurs into the Library to listen to lessons learned by entrepreneurs who have realized their dream of small business ownership. Entrepreneurs who have presented their stories range from Earl Graves, publisher of Black Enterprise magazine; Tom Potter, past president of Brooklyn Brewery; and Le Cirque's pastry chef Jacques Torres, now owner of Jacques Torres Chocolates.

As part of the series, the Business Library hosts an Entrepreneur Fair. This fair features an expo where organizations that support entrepreneur activities distribute information and speak with potential small business owners.

Technology Series

With technological innovations increasing at an accelerated pace, small businesses need insight into what will bring their enterprise greater efficiency at the least expense. These programs showcase the latest technologies through demonstrations and a lecture on the benefits and constraints of each. Programs include the advancement of internet marketing, social media, and website development and much more.
