    The picture-perfect shot doesn’t stop with your camera. In this class, you’ll get hands-on experience with GIMP, a free, versatile photo editing software program, so you can retouch, crop, and color balance your digital photos before showing them to the world. We’ll teach you how to use GIMP, its editing and effects tools, talk about photo-editing best practices and how to export for print and video formats. By the end of this two-hour session, you’ll have the skills to make every shot you take a perfect one. In order to successfully complete this class, participants must be able to comfortably navigate a laptop computer and navigate a computer’s interface.

    Most digital cameras are packed with advanced features that allow novice photographers to shoot like a pro. In this two-hour session, you’ll learn how to use your camera’s features and simple tricks to create beautiful digital images. We’ll cover digital photography basics like camera settings, resolution and exposure levels, and how to properly white balance to make your pictures pop. Composition theory will be discussed, as will shot types and picture formats that work best in video projects. Please bring your own digital camera fully charged, with plenty of battery power and available memory, to the class.

    A workshop to help eligible lawful permanent residents prepare their N-400 Application for Naturalization to become U.S. citizens. This workshop will use interactive online interviews from CitizenshipWorks.org to determine eligibility and help prepare forms. Immigration experts will be available to review applications and answer legal questions related to applying for citizenship. Registration is not required, but strongly encouraged. Assistance will be provided on a first-come first-servied basis, but pre-registered attendees will have priority.

We’ll start you off with scriptwriting and storyboarding best practices, discuss frame composition, and then cover how to get the best audio and lighting when recording your footage. You’ll also explore the free PC editing software program VideoPad that can assemble it all into your final short masterpiece. Please bring your own pair of headphones or earbuds for this class.     A workshop to help eligible lawful permanent residents prepare their N-400 Application for Naturalization to become U.S. citizens. This workshop will use interactive online interviews from CitizenshipWorks.org to determine eligibility and help prepare forms. Immigration experts will be available to review applications and answer legal questions related to applying for citizenship. Registration is not required, but strongly encouraged. Assistance will be provided on a first-come first-servied basis, but pre-registered attendees will have priority.
