BROOKLYN PUBLIC LIBRARY'S BUSINESS LIBRARY HOSTS LAUNCH PARTY FOR WEBSITE GEARED TO YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS

EVENT: To empower Brooklyn's next generation of small business owners, Brooklyn Public Library’s Business Library invites young entrepreneurs to celebrate the launch of its new website, http://myownbiz.brooklynpubliclibrary.org . Designed especially for teens and twenty-somethings aspiring to start their own companies, this new website breaks down the complex process of building a business into easy steps that novices as young as 16-years-old can follow. The festive afternoon at BPL's Business Library will include free food, music, a website demonstration and a panel discussion during which local entrepreneurs discuss the challenges of starting a business.

•The "Getting Started" section covers the first steps one should take to start a business, including how to determine which business best suits the individual, the education necessary to start certain businesses and laws by which business owners must abide.
•The "Where’s the Money?" section offers tips on setting financial goals, applying for loans, and pricing products.
•The "Know Your Market" section includes advice on targeting customers and creating customer surveys.
•The "Sell It" section instructs on developing a marketing strategy.
•The "Put It All Together" section outlines the critical pieces of a marketing plan.
