Mystery Market

Market in unidentified location

Here is another mystery market for all you Brooklyn mavens.  Anyone who can tell us the location of this market gets a copy of the print.

Thanks Mike. We do know how to do the leg work--just thought someone might actually recognize the spot, or at least have fun coming up with the answer.

Dear Joy and the rest of our friends at the Collection: We believe this image to be a ca. 1940 shot of the soon-to-be condemned area along the north side of Myrtle Avenue, looking east to Navy Street, seen from front of frame building at left, #221, housing Marvin's Cut Rate. Directories were of no use; our only clue on the poor scan was the steel elevated column, trolley tracks, and the address number on a store. Lee and I are nearly certain we are correct, and hope additional data bears us out. Best Wishes, Brian Merlis & Lee A. Rosenzweig 5/1/08
