On Monday, October 2, 2023, Brooklyn Public Library hosted our annual Gala at Central Library. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, the event raised $1.5 million for the Library. Almost 500 guests gathered to celebrate our honorees, Hon. Dr. Gloria Carter and Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter, who have made Brooklyn central to their philanthropic work, and who have had a profound cultural, musical and political influence on our world.
