Become a Friend today

Friends groups at Brooklyn Public Library are volunteer, library advocacy groups active in Brooklyn's neighborhoods and also in the Central Library at Grand Army Plaza.

Friends of Brooklyn Public Library groups help support youth services, job search assistance, public programs and internet access—all part of the Library's free and essential services.

At present, there are 12 Friends groups. They can always use another willing heart to help plan and carry out projects to support Brooklyn Public Library.

As a Friend of BPL, you will play a vital role in fundraising, promoting and advocacy efforts for your Library and neighborhood.

Plus you’ll receive exclusive Friends perks, as well as the satisfaction of volunteering for Brooklyn’s key community resource!
