In this nine week series, we focus each week on a different theme, central to our lived experience of the world.

Instructor Ari Satok starts each class by bringing in a piece of writing for us to read and discuss. He then introduces the weekly theme and provides various quotes, cartoons, and other artistic reflections on that theme to spark discussion among the group. The discussion is followed by a short writing lesson, after which participants are assigned a prompt to write on, focused on their personal experiences. Participants write on the prompt and have ample opportunities to share their writing out loud with fellow classmates. Through this workshop, participants write beautiful pieces about their lives, while also building community with each other as they learn from each other’s stories and wisdom.

Registration Required. Zoom link will be sent by 10:00am the morning of the program.

Hosted by Services for Older Adults.

Older Adult programming and services are also generously supported by the New York Community Trust, The Eisner Foundation, Sills Family Foundation and Apple Bank.
