The library hosts programs from individuals and organizations that support our mission of providing the people of Brooklyn with free and open access to information for education, recreation and reference.

All programs must be open to the public and free of charge. To use our spaces for private or paid events, visit our space rental page. If you are part of a community or nonprofit group looking to use BPL’s rooms for meetings, visit the Public Use of Meeting Rooms policy page for information on how to reserve a space. Please note that per this policy, programs that are for "commercial purposes or solicitation of business" are not eligible.

You may use the below form to suggest a program at any of BPL's neighborhood libraries, but you will receive an answer more quickly if you call or visit the branch directly. See a list of locations here.

The library reviews all program proposal submissions and will follow up with which it has an interest in scheduling. Please note that Arts & Culture programming at Central Library is planned 3-6 months in advance.

For programs featuring a published work, the book must already be a part of BPL’s collection. For further information about how materials are selected, see the library's Materials Selection Policy.

To learn more about how to submit a copy of your book for review, please visit our Author and Publisher Submission Guidelines.
