Sustainable Sewing: Sewing Machine Basics
Join us for an afternoon to learn the basics and operation of a sewing machine with our Fiber Artist/Librarian Molloy Rogers.
You will walk away with an understanding of:
- Sewing machine functions
- Stitch settings and when to use them
- Sewing machine presser foot functions and other accessories
- Bobbin creation and operation
- A project sewn by you to take home
Sewing machines are provided but you are welcome to bring your own.
This class will qualify you for sewing machine use in the branch at our monthly sewing circles. The series will be followed in the spring and summer by Sustainable Sewing: Mending and Repair. Also see our weekly and monthly fiber arts circles.
Registration for this event will open on Monday, April 15th at 10am
This event is made possible through the generous support of the Greenpoint Community Environmental Fund.
