Teen Tech Center

The Teen Tech Center offers ongoing technology instruction and workshops, including web design, graphic design, programming languages, video game design, podcasting, robotics and more.

WHAT WE DO

The Teen Tech Center at Crown Heights Library serves as a hub for teen technology offerings, both for the neighborhood and BPL’s borough-wide Teen Techies program. Teens can lead drop-in programs for their peers find opportunities for creative, project-based work.

BPL will be expanding the Teen Techies program to serve more teens. Since 2004, Teen Techies has provided Brooklyn youth with hands-on training and meaningful work experience to introduce them to the information technology field and enhance services for the public through technical assistance and teen-led programs. Teen Tech Center at Crown Heights Library, located in the Lewis Lab, will also host the Teen Techies Summer Institute, which includes tutorials on various software and hardware topics and customer service workshops to build teens’ confidence and prepare them for public service in their local community.
