Rugby Library interior

Rugby Library underwent a comprehensive renovation and reopened in July 2021. The library received new mechanical systems, an interior gut renovation, large windows to allow generous natural light, a brand new opening day book collection, and a WiFi booster antenna that will extend free internet access to neighboring homes and businesses. 

The upgrades to the building include:

  • A new heating and cooling system, including a new Building Management System (BMS) which will provide smart control of the system with energy savings and maximum efficiency 
  • A new LED lighting system
  • New safety systems, including new fire alarm and security systems
  • Facade enhancements
  • Garden restoration and upgrades 
  • A booster antenna to extend our outdoor wireless internet signal to reach up to 300 feet
  • ADA upgrades

The gut renovated, reconfigured interior space features:

  • New furniture
  • New shelving
  • Interior wall mural
  • New book collections
  • All new finishes throughout the building
  • A large community room and meeting room
  • All new tech equipment including all-in-one HP desktop computers and laptops

The enhanced exterior spaces feature:

  • ADA improvements
  • New shrubs and trees including native plants and evergreens to ensure year-round beauty
  • A layout that allows for more flexible outdoor programming
